It has been a universal truth that for the past few years, shortly after the Leica M9 began shipping in late 2009, almost all Leica M lenses have been extraordinarily difficult to acquire. Wait times for certain lenses could be one year or longer. Now, however, we have seen lenses slowly become available, to the point where almost all Leica M lenses are in stock at Dale Photo & Digital. I am frequently asked all the time “what Leica M lenses do you have in stock?” and I can say that the best place to check is our frequently updated Dale Photo & Digital Stock Alerts thread on our forum here.
However in the interest of efficiency, and given the high demand for many of these lenses, I have elected to summarize not only what Leica lenses we have available, but which are NOT available, and my thoughts on the whole situation.
To answer the eternal question, here is the definitive list of Leica M lenses we have in stock as of August 30, 2012:

- Leica Summicron-M 50mm f/2.0 – Black
- Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH – Black

- Leica APO-Summicron-M 75mm f/2.0 ASPH

That's a lot of lenses! When I look at that list, there are a few that stand out. The Leica APO-Summicron-M 75mm f/2.0 ASPH is finally available after over a year. The Leica Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH is in stock in black and silver, after almost two years. All of the compact, lightweight Summarit lenses are in stock. And the new Leica Super-Elmar-M 21mm f/3.4 ASPH is here as well.
While that is list is quite comprehensive, there are still some gaps. Here is what is currently NOT in stock (as of August 30, 2012):
- Wide-Angle-Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21mm f/4 ASPH w/ Universal Wide-Angle Viewfinder
- Leica Summilux-M 21mm f/1.4 ASPH
- Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH (with Floating Element)
- Leica APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH
- Leica Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH
- Leica APO-Summicron-M 90mm f/2.0 ASPH
Among the items on that list, of course the recently announced Leica APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH has not yet begun shipping yet however we hope to see it soon. The Leica Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH (with Floating Element) is in perpetually high demand and remains heavily back ordered.
