Can you post a sample image showing the problem you are experiencing? The above comments are correct, one of Leica's firmware updates for the S2 this year increased the maximum shutter speed of the S2 from 32 seconds to 125 seconds. What firmware version do you currently have installed?

You are correct, I was mistaken, you cannot re-install the same version of the firmware on the S2 from my experience. Another option might be to downgrade the firmware to the previous version, then upgrade again. I can email you the previous version if you cannot find it online.

The S2 firmware update process takes 3-5 minutes, so if it is only lasting a few seconds, it is possible that the firmware file itself is corrupt. I might try re-downloading it from Leica's website, re-formatting the memory card, and give the process another try.

The Lightroom preset cannot be directly imported into Adobe Camera Raw, but the settings are identical, so it would be simple to create a Camera Raw preset using the same settings that are used in my Lightroom presets.

Mark, nice shot! It really is amazing what the S2 is capable of at ISO1250. I am also very pleased to see such nice results from the Pentax 400mm.

I think other essential accessories for me include the Leica viewfinder magnifiers. My eyesight is far from perfect, even with glasses, so having a bit of extra magnification in the viewfinder has proven to be very helpful. Even with wider angle lenses, I might use the 1.4x and an external viewfinder. A very useful gadget I always keep in my camera bag.

Mark, thank you for the feedback. What I wanted to demonstrated was the objective ISO performance of the S2 with a proper exposure. The performance would be the same in low light, since exposure in this scenario is linear. Overlay each image over your original file and set the blending mode to “Lighten” in Photoshop. I did this with a few of the files just to show how it would work but you could certainly do it with as many of the firefly images as you like.
