I’ve actually tried this kind of setup on a Sony body, and I found that you really don’t need f/1.4 for astrophotography if you’re comfortable shooting around ISO 3200. Using the NPF rule, keeping exposures under about 6 seconds works fine to avoid star movement, especially with a modern f/2 lens that handles noise and sharpness better. For me, stacking a few shots made ISO less of a worry and gave cleaner results overall.
