There was a time when I had to leave for a few days, I bought an automatic cat feeder, and it was one of the best solutions to the problem. It works without failures, the food is supplied on schedule, and the capacity was enough for my entire departure. Now I even use it in everyday life, it’s very convenient.

Auto feeders are so useful! I travel for work sometimes and it gives me peace of mind. The only issue I’ve had is my long-haired cat’s shedding – my pet sitter mentioned there was fur everywhere when she came to check on him. Anyone have suggestions for managing serious shedding when you’re not home daily to brush?

My Persian had the same issue with shedding while I was away. Regular brushing helps but I found some good tools at https://www.petbayaus.com.au/collections/cat-deshedding that reduced the fur problem. Their silicone grooming gloves worked well for my cat who hates normal brushes. I also got a self-grooming wall corner that my cat uses on her own when she’s itchy. The deshedding shampoo they sell has helped too – I use it before trips and it seems to reduce shedding for about a week. Worth trying if your sitter is dealing with too much fur!
