Jack MacD;4972 wrote: How Large Can You Print? I will keep this unframed for a bit, as it is useful to carry around to clients to show just how much detail can be held in a large fine art print. Jack
Apologies if this was answered, but how do you carry the large print around, and protect it?

Thanks David. There are so many factors …. but the scaling thing may very well account for why some of my images look great and others that should look as good don't have the same impact on the same screen. In any case I have a lot of automation tools for the PC that don't run native on the Mac, so a good PC laptop will come in handy on road…[Read more]

Jack,
Seeing the print laid flat with the lady standing behind it really demonstrates just how big it is. It will be considerably larger with the mat and frame. You will need a large wall to hang it on. It should look awesome though.
The cost of framing is a huge obstacle for large prints. I am guilty of getting my big prints done on…[Read more]

Great thoughts. More resolution shouldn't hurt. A lens and camera that support a sometimes spontaneous shooting style is my favorite. I've belonged to several clubs that identified as photo clubs (as compared to camera clubs), the last one a really big regional club, but everyone always went out to the shoots with camera and big tripod. So far…[Read more]

Arif, Mark, Roger, and RVB,
Thanks for your comments. Joe and I have been coordinating ideas on how best to frame such large prints going forward. He was considering mounting frameless on aluminum, but services that we have found to do that, also unfortunately require their own printing. If anyone knows of a service that mounts ones own…[Read more]

Send it back.
IMO, you should NOT be worried about anything for $11,000.
Personally, if buying this lens used, it'd still be very expensive and I would not buy one with a bubble myself … I'd look for another one.

Jack, the large print looks great from hear. I can imagine just how good it looks in person. That was very nice of Joe to make the print for you. He is a very helpful person and a joy to go shooting with.

I added this lens switch case pouch to the MindShift outfit:
http://www.mindshiftgear.com/products/lens-switch-case
This lens switch case is for me a distinct improvement over the ThinkTank skin 50 V2 bag or the lens changer 35 V2 as I can get lenses with mounted shades more quickly out of the lens-switch-case than I could the other…[Read more]

Thank you “Pete Walentin”. I guess i was not looking in the right direction. I have checked this link and this place is great. Actually you have solved my problem of selecting the right riad.
Thanks once again 😮 -

I haven't checked the site you are referring to, but we stayed in Riad Snan13. The prices are far away from 300 pounds and the location is perfect. Hope that helps.
Cheers,

Being old and ancient with historical richness people have preferred Marrakech for years but now i have noticed that going to Marrakech is getting expensive then ever. I was surfing on the internet about the one night stay rates of different hotels and i was quite shocked to see that one night charge was 300 pounds with min of three nights stay.…[Read more]
