Can't update to firmware 3.0 or 3.1

I have the original Leica Q with firmware 2.0 installed. I have tried to download and install firmware 3.0 and 3.1 without success. I know I have the right files (ending in .lfu), but when I power up the camera while holding down the video button, I get the spinning circle for a moment and then nothing. Any suggestions? Thank you.

I am in the same boat. I want to update the firmware for my old Q and the Leica website is of no help in this matter. Thanks for any help.
