There are several advertised for the S2, e.g. GGS, Giottos, AC MAXX. Does
anyone have experience with these brands that they could advise me as to:
      (1) how they effect image on LCD
      (2) durability or fragility (e.g. some are plastic, others a glass)
      (3) problems with installation and/or removal (I heard some can damage the
      camera when removed)
      (4) effectiveness

      Thanks

My personal experience is with GGS, AC MAX, and Giottos. I think that Giottos is the best optically and seems to be easily removeable. A LITTLE heat from a woman’s hair dryer really helps. I have only used one GGS so I cannot comment. I have installed several AC MAX and they appear strong but are lacking in optical quality. Every one has newton rings and while being installed, they seem to really attract dust. AC MAX makes a cover for the top lcd. AC MAX screens have a silver border that I don’t really like. However AC MAX makes the most protectors of any manufacturer and their service on ebay is impeccable.

I use the AC Maxx and have had no issues so far (I don’t mind the silver lining). I recently had my S2 Top LED upgraded and sent to Solms who removed the top AC Maxx protector without any issue so it seems they can be removed easily. The service from AC Maxx on ebay was very good as well.

I had mine replaced too and the AC Maxx was still in place.. I was told that the OLED is replaced from inside and does not affect the top plate.
