Recently, I found myself in the market for a new camera bag and was leaning towards a backpack. But I didn’t want something that screamed ‘camera backpack.’ Nor was I excited by the prospect of a big, bulky pack […]

I bought the Peak Design Everyday Backpack last summer before traveling to Spain. I've had a bunch of different camera bags over the years, and bags for laptops. I work as a Location Manager, so having a functional bag that can carry my camera, laptop, iPad and other stuff is essential. I love this bag. It is so well designed, and features excellent build quality. I have had the bag for a year now and it still looks brand new.

A hidden magnetically sealed pocket sits just beneath the top flap, and is the perfect spot to conceal high value goodies like your wallet, phone, passport or cash.

Hello. I read about the camera back pack-idea. I could fill in with another idea. The swedish company “Fjällräven” manufactures a photo bag with flexibel interior, but the great thing added is that this is also an ‘insert',so you could place this insert into your ordinary bags or rucksacks and also it does not cry out that you are bringing your gear with you.

Got hit with a checked bag fee at the gate last year because I didn't realize my “carry-on” was actually too big for the airline I was flying. Since then I use CarrySizer https://carrysizer.com/ before every trip. You enter your bag's dimensions and it checks them against whichever airline you're flying — they cover 170+ carriers. The tool is straightforward: length, width, depth, and it tells you whether you're good for cabin or personal item. What I appreciate is that it also covers different fare classes, since economy and business sometimes have different limits. There's a route checker too for multi-leg trips where you're flying two different airlines. Free to use, no account required. Worth doing this check before you leave the house rather than at the gate.
