images, finally! thanks!
I've experimented and found that if I fit the Grip, I can hand hold for 2 stops longer in the portrait mode.
This is my finding too! I can't use the S2 without the grip properly. But i do mostly portraits anyway.
For those of you using or just trying this lens, pay attention to where you are holding the…

If you own the pocketwizzards it may also be an idea to adjust the synctimes manually. maybe they open to late or close to early, this can be set manually to adjust it to the needs of the camera

this is an old complaint about this lens, in fact I suggested a focus limiter allready one week after I had it. It is one reason why I don't use this lens anymore for portrait work.
Instead, I use the Hasselblad 100/2.2 and the 150/3.5 with the HC-adapter, and they are great lenses for the S.
My wish is that one day they will make…[Read more]

David,
I will admit that I tried to make the system take a bad picture (technically) but it was very difficult. The only thing I wish were better is the image stabilization feature. With Olympus, the 5 axis…[Read more] -

Last September I promised I would report actual data regarding the framing and shipping cost of the large 60″x40″ Mirror Lake print. It was shipped to a client in Las Vegas a couple months back. The framing was just over $700 using museum glass. For shipping I had it couriered to USP for $50 to then have UPS pack it and it shipped by rail (rather…[Read more]

Mark,
I hear you there! Hiking with a big tripod and S gear can get tiresome! The T is a very good system, wide DR and great image quality. A great upgrade for my X2 which I also carried out in the field. The lenses, 23 and 18-56 zoom are up to the standards that we have become accustomed to. It works very well with the T-M adapter and if…[Read more] -

Well done Al. I am interested in the Leica T for those times I don't want to carry the S2.

Very nice rendering of the colors in both shots. The second photo, with the man on a bike, has an interesting 3D effect.
Thanks for sharing. -

Jim,
Regarding full frame,
The T never need be full frame as the sensor size as is allows for great quality and smaller lenses.
But what if a future M goes autofocus? This could be the lens mount for that future. Pretty obvious. -

Thanks for the Feedback guys.
@David: It would be interesting but those tests are expensive. 😎
A more stable head may help, but very often time is of the essence and when not being in an open car you have to shoot through the window, so no way of using a tripod. On top, if you are not alone in your car, your companions move, so is…[Read more]

A wonderful review! You guys do a great job with your videos! Many thanks!

I hope Leica brings out a 350 this fall
And while we are wishing, I want a T like interface on the next S.
Joe D cleverly suggests using the touch focus to allow for automated sequential focus stacking, but that would also require T like focus sensing or focus reposition.
Mark who uses focus stacking very effectively can comment on…[Read more] - Load More
