Andy:
While I cannot be exactly sure why you had this particular problem, I can say from experience that the S2, and most of the cameras I have owned in fact, are very reliable…but there will always be variability. The S2 is a hand built camera, and while Leica's QC is good, they are not perfect. What matters now is how Leica Service…[Read more]

Hi Josh.. yes the batteries were physically stuck inside both the Body and the Grip but at different times.. returned to Solms under warranty.. it was a sudden occurrence both times with a battery change no problem for a few times then just no release with the button in the grip and the switch on the body. I have the Body with Solms just now and…[Read more]

Andy:
Sorry to hear that you are having issues. Are you saying that the S2 battery was physically stuck inside both the camera and the grip? That is something I have never seen. What I have seen is batteries that do not lock very well inside the camera, but this appears to be the opposite problem. How did you end up removing the stuck…[Read more]

The WATE indoors is best on a tripod for two reasons, to insure being level and to allow for low light options unless using strobes etc.
I have shot hand held in well lit rooms, but even a small tripod is a huge plus.
This bar shot was half a second in the very low light so the outdoors would not overpower the indoors and require artificial…[Read more] -

yes, they could
Have heard anecdotes about Aaron being a very good kid at heart. Does lots of charity and Community service. My work has brought me into contact with pro athletes of all the major sports.
Little use for NBA players, very selfish and poorly mannered. Baseball not far behind in many cases. NFL guys are very intense but…[Read more]

I'm glad Green Bay and Phoenix football has been good to you. I hope your admiration of Aaron helps you get a WATE. I will relay your thanks to him. You really should drop the love of the Bears, as you seem like such a nice intelligent photographer.
Admittedly this photo of Aaron and Clay was not taken with the WATE but I can report that the…[Read more]

Thought about bringing my WATE for the shot.I have been using the 28mm on…

The view from the rural south…
Most important is the indisputable fact that the S2 is simply the very best point and shoot that has ever been built. It is also the heaviest point and shoot ever built. The weight of the S2 means the the next upgrade has to be to the significant other (SO) who carries the rest of the kit. Most SOs will carry an…[Read more] -

Obsolescence is a variable event. As some have alluded, at times “new and improved” simply is not anything more than new. And even “improvements” are not necessarily better, especially in the artistic realm.
While I don't doubt that ultimately an S3 will appear, it won't obsolete the divine images that the S2 is currently producing. And the…[Read more]
