I have attended two events at the Leica Miami Store Gallery and have to add it has been very rewarding to meet iconic photographers while in attendance as the feature photographers and the photographers in the audiences.
Thanks Leica Miami -

Shooting in black and white due to really, really bad lighting. f5.6, 1/13 second handheld, ISO 800, burst of 8 shots, and only one of the 8 was sharp. But then, the X2 has no image stabilization.

Does anyone know a way to get a list of authorized USA Leica dealers? The Leica website either only shows the US Leica official stores or dealers near your zip code – no comprehensive list, unless I'm missing something. Thanks in advance.

This one was a 20-minute wait after sunset watching the clouds and colors develop. I know some cameras have scene modes for sunsets, but even when I use a camera that has those, I've found I get better results just waiting and shooting a few, and occasionally the light and texture just pop on their own. I cropped it vertically where the sky…[Read more]

The battery did have light use for at least 3 days, so taking 629 flash photos after that was spectacular I thought.

Amazingly tough battery! Or inaccurate indicator? I do like the treadmill-generator theory though. 🙂

Note: I'll try to get all the facts accounted for up front.
I have a Leica X-E, which should be identical to the X2, but with a more economical exterior finish. I have 2 batteries – same battery as the other X's. I've been shooting with the current battery for about 4 days, the last 2 days at 1/3 charge according to the battery meter. I took…[Read more]

Two more – the famous bridge from a distance at night, f2.8, 1 second, ISO 400. I cropped 10 pct. from the left and 5 pct. from the right, but there is still noticeable coma on the lights. On the left side, I masked out the coma somewhat. Still, it's no worse than the Noctilux lens shooting it at widest aperture. The second item are the Irish…[Read more]

Thanks! Shooting JPEG-only has its disadvantages of course – with the bridge photo, I abandoned realism so I could turn an out-of-focus image into some kind of “art”, so no hope there. I'll get a better one eventually.
