Sent my S2 in for a sensor cleaning and just received a call to inform me that the source of the spots was not dust or oil droplets (common with certain Nikons, et al) but flakes from the sensor coating. Sunset with Tide Pools and Gull in flight, and Harbor view in blue. The harbor image resolution isn't good, but with maximum zoom, cropping, and the objects so far away, it's probably about as good as I can get unless the air were to get extremely clear.
