Yeah, I got an Orange T-snap. I really didn't understand how this snap-on worked before. I mistakenly thought it was sort of thin rubber. It's not, it's hard but flexible plastic. I like it more than I expected.

Leica should make repairing these faulty 120's and getting them back to their owners a priority. In other words…move these lenses to the top of the cue, fix them and ship them back promptly. Well, that stinks. With Ricoh putting the 645Z on the street for $8495, it's kind of difficult to believe that the new CMOS S is costing more to make than the Type 006. I realize that Leica may be opting for a CMOSIS sensor (or someone else's) instead of Sony. But geesh…

Just had a chat with a Leica dealer in Germany.. they said that the current S will remain in the line up and that the CMOS will be significantly more expensive than the current camera.. Start Saving guys… 😉

Add my name to the list. My 120 is in Solms as well. Was at a shoot and suddenly
it would not autofocus. Solms claims there was impact damage, but I do not recall
such an event. They are charging me a lot for the repair and state it will take 6 weeks.

It happened to my 120mm non-CS lens as well!!
Sent it to Leica Solms for more than 2 months and I am still waiting 🙁

It seems like the failure rate of AF is rather high. Hope Leica will provide long term fix for this problem. Or else it is going to be very costly to service this problem after the warranty is over.

From this weekend: ISO1250 equivalent, using ISO160 and -3EV exposure compensation, “Auto-Levels” and some curve adjustment in Photoshop.

These are with a 1952 Minolta Chiyoko 5cm F2 lens, wide-open.

The same happend to my 120 mm lens about three months ago. It had to go to Wetzlar and came back 6 weeks later, at no cost.

I just had precisely the same thing happen to my 120 CS. Whirring sound for several seconds…and will not AF. My other lenses all work fine…even my Contax zoom with adapter is working. Nothing precipitated this failure. Worked fine last time…now it doesn't.

Lens is Sold.

Thanks Arif, today I sent the lens to the dealer and they will forward it to Leica. Fingers crossed it will be repaired quickly. Too bad this has happened, it is my most used lens at the moment.
