That's interesting! I always appreciate the little details that Leica focuses on. A finely milled brass cap does sound significantly more durable than some of the flimsy plastic ones you see elsewhere. It's like they're building in a little piece of art, even for something as simple as a lens cap. It makes me wonder if future generations will be playing a museum exhibit version of the Dinosaur Game while admiring our carefully preserved Leica gear! Definitely a worthwhile investment for protecting such valuable glass.
