That is a nice looking bag, could you perhaps show a photo of all the gear inside and how it all fits?

Marc,
I'm working on it. In addition to the update on S System, I'm also working on a full review of the M Monochrom, a full review of the X2 and a little something extra…. 😀

The smile on Mark's face about the back story makes me smile again.
The back story for other readers is that only Mark knew exactly where to drive to get this shot in the falling light. I was riding with him.
The last van made a wrong turn, even though they were following us, and arrived in total darkness. Mark, please remind me who the…[Read more] -

When I started this post last Oct. I showed a panorama from the last night in Vermont.
I suggested then that it would make a good ten foot wide triptych.I sold the heavily modified image as an eleven foot triptych back in January. This week, I was visiting the client showing new work, and took this photo of the triptych installed in the…[Read more]

I just returned from Germany the day before yesterday and will be posting several articles, one of them an update on the S System.

If you are still having issues getting shutter count, try downloading the M8 Info program. There is also an M9 Info program here as well. Very easy.

Yes, Leica is committed to providing continuing updates for S2 firmware. I was told that many of the feature enhancements Stephan and I discussed back in October will come, but that with all the activity running up to May 10 resources for firmware development had to be shifted elsewhere. Rest assured, Leica is committed to long term support for the S2.

Suggest we need a little assurance regarding the inventory of M sensors. Even if a M10 gets announced in 5 months, we need to know that M9 sensors will be in inventory for years, should one crack a sensor or scratch a sensor. The worry on this is not mine, but others.

Insure that the $1000 upgrade to the CS is still available. Please tell him, congratulations on the 1/1000 sync speed for the CS, and the H adaptor that keeps auto focus from the H. Impressive.

Josh,
I am very pleased that Leica did the MM. Given that it has no competition I expect it to sell very well to the purists. It is quite cool that only Leica can go to this length. The Luminous Landscape predicted some would unfortunately complain about the existence of this camera.…[Read more]

From what I understand there are no supply issues with Leica M9 sensors. The cameras are still available brand new and we can always order more from Leica when needed.
Leica is all about unique products that are peerless, and I think the new Leica M Monochrom fits that perfectly. Of course they understand it won't be the volume seller so that…[Read more]

The choice really depends on what you shoot, the 24 will be and I don't think the overall size would be conducive to people-street photography. But if landscape is what you are after, wait for the 24. The 30-90 zoom will be a variable aperture lens and slower than the primes from what I hear. However a perfect set… -

I promised to post some more examples of “correct wide angle” filter in CS6
Usually when I merge I use “cylindrical” merge rather than “perspective”, because as this example shows, the perspective merge is usually lopsided. If anyone knows how to avoid for that, please let me know.

It sounds like you have a bad battery to me. That is a problem I have seen before, where the battery shows that it has some charge remaining but the camera refuses to stay on. At first I thought it was a camera issue but after trying a new battery, I realized it was a defective battery. Send it my way and I will replace it!
