David Farkas replied to the topic Any CA seen with the 35mm? in the forum S Lenses 14 years, 1 month ago
Pete,
Ask and you shall receive. I went out today with the S2 and 35mm Summarit-S around noon when the South Florida light is at its most harsh and direct. I headed for a polished stainless steel sculpture in nearby Greenbelt park as I figured it to be the toughest test of CA within driving distance.
The files here were processed in LR…[Read more]

Andrew:
The Lightroom preset cannot be directly imported into Adobe Camera Raw, but the settings are identical, so it would be simple to create a Camera Raw preset using the same settings that are used in my Lightroom presets.

For those of you that own and shoot the 35mm FL lens, would you comment on the amount of chromatic aberration seen in, and at the extremes of the images produced? I have been unable to locate any Imatest data on the lens.

On the S2 if the lens is back/front focusing you have to send camera and lens in? So just a flat high contrast target would be the logical choice.

The latest from Leica's Facebook page:
Leica Camera has recently become aware of customers experiencing compatibility issues related to select types of new memory cards when used in the Leica M9. The misbehavior occurs in very limited cases (< 0.1% of total No. of sold M9/M9-P), but because it is associated with the loss of images, we…[Read more]

Wow. VERY impressive shot, Mark. Beyond the fact that ISO 1250 looks so good, the picture is really beautiful. What aperture did you use on the 400mm? The bokeh is really nice.

Another suggestion for future firmware:
Currently 2 sec self-timer locks up the mirror immediately, then counts down. This is a huge plus for tripod shooting. Unfortunately, the 12 sec self-timer doesn't currently offer any big advantage. Once you press the shutter, the timer counts down from 12, then at the 2 sec mark, the mirror locks up. I…[Read more]
