For a safari you will want a fast telephoto lens as the animals are not always within 10 feet during the day. Many times at dusk or dawn in low light. Yes amping up the iso will help. Yes digitally zooming in your 23 will help. But consider renting a tele zoom or prime.

Looks like an all-too-familiar result of Leica flash set to TTL or automatic modes, which inexplicably reads the exposure incorrectly. I've got three Leica flashes and they are all unpredictable—on various cameras—when expected to properly gauge the scene.

Hi folks,
I just got a Leica CL Starter Bundle (with the Elmarit TL 18mm) and I also purchased a Summicron 23mm lens. I wanted to know if I should be using a filter while on the safari part of my trip? I am assuming I'll be in an open top Land Rover and there would be a lot of sunshine.

I'm pleased to join RDF! I own several camera systems along with a D-LUX 7 for fun. I am seriously interested in the Q platform. I am primarily a photographer (vs a videographer). Are the Q's thumbs up, hand grip and Arte di Mano half cases compatible with the Q2?

A few comments:
The crop modes are a *huge* improvement over the Q, due to superior resolution.
The bigger battery is a very welcome change.
I'm able to get to all necessary functions with the default settings.
The lens hood is perfect, and the Thumbs-Up lens cap with string is superb.
The optional grip is excellent – highly recommended, and very easy to mount/dismount.
The Macro ring is very convenient.
The Menu system is easy to navigate, with good shortcuts.
The look and feel of the Q2 is exquisite.
