PC Sync Cord
Not that none of you has thought of this but it has not been mentioned. The obvious answer is to hard wire the camera to the flash.

I love my SL with the 24-90mm lens. Waiting for the new 50mm 1.4 lens will take to the end of the year.
In march/april the new 35mm (50mm) 1,4 TL is coming. If I take a picture with my M8 it gives me 10.5mb with great results.
Is there anybody who has experience with T lenses on the SL?
Thanks for any answer,

Here's a type of image that I rarely post, since the quality isn't the best. But I took it on the street at night through a plate glass window, and in spite of using ISO 200, there's more noise than I expected, due to the lack of good lighting. I thought it had a kind of “Home Sweet Home” look, and that made it a keeper.

The Hague started the topic Why the Leica SL in the forum Leica SL (Typ 601) 10 years, 4 months ago
After using and shooting my M6 ttl and M8 (50mm 2.0/ 35mm 1.4/90mm/2.0) for many years and even still using film I bought an SL 2 weeks ago.
Everybody is getting older and even with a 1.25 magnifier taking pictures was more difficult. Doing street photo's with the M (ISO 640 A 11.0 and distance 1.5m) gave me great results.
So after trying street…[Read more] -

The USS Yorktown is anchored there, with more WW2 ships and a submarine behind it. They're great for a tour.
The alligator in the pond loves pets, all sizes included, so a tough German Shepherd or Pitbull is just another lunch.

I like the pond with the invisible alligator! He would have a duck dinner, I guess…
In the shot just above, is that an aircraft carrier moored up there close to shore? I'm surprised the water is deep enough! -

This is a place I visit on the Charleston County shoreline. The pond usually has a resident alligator, courtesy of Bulls Island nearby. There's a light fog in the background.

This is JPEG only, shot through a plate-glass window, with some unavoidable reflections even though the lens barrel was squarely in contact with the window glass. So, a little cloning to remove the reflections….

Congratulations!
Excellent report, beautiful pics. The cyclist riding in the yellow morning fog and the very last pic are my favorite ones.
I guess I'm a dyed-in-the-wool M user and will thus not get excited about the SL. But it nonetheless seems to be a fascinating piece of technology.
Greetings from Sao Paulo …
David,
Excellent review.
I am a S2 and M240 MP owner.
Im on the fence with the SL.
Still love my S and M system, yet as I get older it would sure be nice to have AF or a good EVF option for my M system.
Simon,
The SL can certainly be used in a studio environment. But you are correct that that you need to turn off exposure simulation so that you don't get a black frame with typical strobe settings. To disable Exposure Preview, just go to the second page of the camera menu and set Exp. Preview to Off. Hope this helps.
