At the SL Launch event in Wetzlar last week, many wondered why Leica showed a graphic promoting the use of 6 T/TL lenses when only four currently exist. While nothing was officially announced at the time, I saw T […]

Great review on the SL, Josh. It sounds like the new EVF is just what I need for my macro work. Thanks for your continuing support.

Macro Photos taken last May on Mt. Tamalpais N. of San Francisco, of calif. native wildflowers: Mariposa Tulip, or Lily, Clover. I used my MP 240 with an adapted Leitz microscope objective fitted with an F:2.0 to F:11 diaphragm, called “Photar”. There is a Leica adapter for R cameras that allows the Photars to be screwed on. It has been giving…[Read more]

Looks like Leica has recognized this and is taking action to replace the motors free of charge. I hope they have a better solution, motor/gear, than just replacing the existing motor.
Leica offers a free autofocus drive replacement on some S lenses
Good to know that they stand behind their…[Read more]

This shows the beginning image as LR adjustment. Yes this wold have been achievable with a ND grad filter, but the building would have been an issue.
It used to be that PS was required to do this, now it can be done in LR. -

This is a sunset shot that probably didn't need to be shot at 3,200 but was done to test how much recovery of the shadows can be accomplished after high ISO use.

Hi David, thanks for the report. For what number of lines per mm are S lenses being calculated/produced? Thanks!
The published MTFs show data for 10, 20 and 40 lp/mm. Internally, Leica is now testing for 60 lp/mm as well.
To my knowledge, the TL lenses are not weather sealed. I would have no issue using it in a light drizzle though, same as I might with an M lens.
