This is the installation of nine of the 16″x24″ prints by Joe Donovan. in a 3 X 3 matrix.
The client clearly has a very modern loft type house, that is built on top of a seven story condo in the 3rd Ward and wanted very industrial looking photos to compliment the neighborhood. Lots of curves in this loft, so they chose lots of curves in the…[Read more] -

Just as a “for what it's worth” note, I recently had occasion to shoot with the Contax 350 APO Tessar on my S2 P and found the image quality to easily be the equal of more modern lenses but the auto focus was a bit slow. In truth, I ended up using it as a manual focus system and was quite pleased with the results. Until Leica comes forth with…[Read more]

These are great images, thanks for sharing. My wife and I are going to be visting the Wiliamette Valley wineries and then traveling up the Olympic Penninsula into Seattle this fall with my S2 kit in tow and I do hope to be able to capture some similar shots.

Marc,
As I had in my S also the SD card, the photos were there as JPG's. Not good. There was also one curiosity. While photographing there came suddenly an announcement in the back LCD that there is no CF card inside and that parallel is changed to sequential. This has happened every time also in my earlier CF cards.
So my old SD…[Read more]

Marc. I have the same problem. I bought the S last october and since then every Sandisc Extreme Pro 64 Gb CF has been ok for only about 500 photos (and about 4-5 loadings to my computer). After that the catastrophe exactly as You wrote.
My vendor changes the card free, but I of course lose all the photos in the card.

The Leica folks think that the wide angle lenses need to be calibrated to my S2-P body so everything is going to Germany next week, just as Al's did. If it comes back focusing properly, we know it is a defect or a design flaw.
I want to preface my next statement by telling readers that I do use my S2-P on manual focus most of the time. There…[Read more]

The pictures look very beautiful, especially with the T-23 mm. I got mine two weeks while I was in Japan but still no time to enjoy it. I had this T-23 mm. and it should be my carrying around lens.
One question – where did you get the M adapter? I will be in New York the week after next, not sure whether I can buy it from B&H or not?

I'd add that when I use wide angle S lenses at infinity, I almost never allow the camera to auto focus focus to infinity. In my mind, doing so effectively discards a large portion of my usable DOF. I usually set the hyperfocal position manually and just shoot everything at this setting. Then, on a 30mm, I can get DOF on everything from 3ft to…[Read more]

I have had that infinity issue with my 35 when the subject is very far and very tiny detail without a clear object to focus on. I now know to double check the setting and manually readjust. That is a function of SLRs to me. My split screen doesn't really help either in that subject. That is the advantage of a rangefinder when using wide lenses.…[Read more]
