David,
I can't tell much difference between the crop sections you posted other than the bottom one seems to have a little bit more contrast. The red stripes on the cross arms are darker and slightly more pronounced. Typically, I think of Zeiss as being more contrasty the Leica, but honestly I have no clue which is which in this case.

Boy those buildings are tack sharp. That 120 is a great lens…I love it. Not sure what's going on in the water and sky in the far distance. Looks like you had plenty of light so I'm guessing it's not noise. But I do like the shot. You seem to have a knack for getting up high and shooting down 🙂

David, congratulations on your new lens and adapter. It is difficult to for me to discern any difference between the images at the web resolutions posted other than possibly one show a tad more contrast than the other. What are your thoughts based on the full size images. The Contax looks really good to me. I suspect that any difference between…[Read more]

I was in room 4507 in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Not inexpensive as you might guess. Third highest building in San Francisco. Glad the day was sunny. The windows open just enough to slip a 120 out the side. Another room wouldn't have allowed for that particular angle out the open window. The views through the windows were of both bridges, but I…[Read more]

Perhaps, you were shooting it on Bay bridge? with a super teleyt? You've got TransAmerica building, Coit Tower and Alcatraz, all in one shot. Cool.

I've uploaded my initial batch of images taken using the V1.05 raw convertor.
all I can say is- Leica should have had 16-bit DNG in the original M8 firmware, and Thankyou to Arvin for doing this.
