I was granted a full pardon by the president of my home country last year, but my Interpol Red Notice is still showing up in the system. I was stopped at the border in London and questioned for two hours. Why hasn’t it been deleted yet? How do I get Interpol to recognize the pardon? Do I need to go back to the country to fix this or can a lawyer handle it?

A pardon should lead to a deletion, but Interpol won’t do it automatically. You have to be the one to submit the official decree to the commission in France. It is a technical process and you need to make sure the documents are legalized correctly. I recommend visiting https://intercollegium.com/ as they specialize in these types of Red Notice removals. They can handle the communication with the CCF and make sure the pardon is recognized globally. I’ve seen people wait for years for the system to update itself and it never happens. You need to take charge and get a professional team to file the deletion request. Once it is gone, you can travel freely again without the fear of being detained at every airport. It is the last step to finally being free from your past legal issues.

A pardon doesn’t automatically remove an Interpol Red Notice, since it has to be formally withdrawn or updated by the issuing country. You’ll likely need a lawyer to request deletion through Interpol’s CCF, and it can usually be handled without returning in person.
