If you could get an M9-P….. certainly none coming in in the next few weeks with the factory closed for the rest of the month.

Another suggestion for future firmware:
Currently 2 sec self-timer locks up the mirror immediately, then counts down. This is a huge plus for tripod shooting. Unfortunately, the 12 sec self-timer doesn't currently offer any big advantage. Once you press the shutter, the timer counts down from 12, then at the 2 sec mark, the mirror locks up. I…[Read more]

Atanabe;432 wrote: KA7197, welcome to the forum. Small vs large cards are relative to the number of images stored or lost. Yes, those “big” cards of yesteryear are small by today's comparison but did store a good number of images, a 512 mb card would store 93 5.47 mb images from my D1X but only 6 from my S2. So in relative terms, I would have…

Josh Lehrer replied to the topic Favorite Accessories for the M9 in the forum M9 14 years, 5 months ago
I think other essential accessories for me include the Leica viewfinder magnifiers. My eyesight is far from perfect, even with glasses, so having a bit of extra magnification in the viewfinder has proven to be very helpful. Even with wider angle lenses, I might use the 1.4x and an external viewfinder. A very useful gadget I always keep in my camera bag.

ka7197, welcome to Red Dot Forum and thanks for posting.
The omission of the 50 Summarit was a simple oversight on my part when setting up the poll. I've fixed it and added the option.
The Summarit is certainly no slouch of a lens. As I tell people who are new to Leica, there are no bad Leica lenses. In the world of Canon or Nikon, a…[Read more]

I like both.
That's always been a plus to extra resolution. You can create so many photographs from one scene.I recently sold from my website what I had posted as a panorama shot, and off my website, which allows for custom cropping, the buyer cbose to crop it to a rectangle and it still had enough resolution for them to order it as a…[Read more]

Josh Lehrer replied to the topic Maximizing High ISO Performance on the Leica S2 in the forum S2 14 years, 5 months ago
Mark, thank you for the feedback. What I wanted to demonstrated was the objective ISO performance of the S2 with a proper exposure. The performance would be the same in low light, since exposure in this scenario is linear. Of course underexposure situations in order to squeeze some extra exposure out of the sensor would be a different situation…[Read more]

Stuart,
Your SSD solution sounds smart.
In my case I have an iMac for studio, and the Air will be for the road.
I thought I could avoid a laptop on the road, but on every photo trip I missed it, and my old MacBook Pro is heavy, slow, maxed at 3Gig, battery that lasts 5 minutes, etc. I have given it a new battery, new hard drive, more Ram,…[Read more] -

Are you looking at the 11″ or 13″ MBA?
I was just in the Apple Store and looked at both. If I was in the market for one ;), I'm actually not sure which way I'd go.
The 11″ is barely bigger than my gen 1 iPad and much more functional, but has a pretty small screen. The 13″ has decent screen real estate and might be a capable Portable LR…[Read more]

The biggest difference is that the i7 has hyperthreading while the i5 does not. So, while the speed is essentially the same clock-for-clock, the i7 will have twice the virtual cores, making it superior for heavily multi-threaded applications like image…[Read more]
