Beautiful lady and photographs. My first reaction was that I preferred background rendering of the Hasselblad HC210mm over the Leica S120mm and in general preferred the Hasselblad photo. However, upon closer inspection of the web sized images, I think the difference has more to do with the lighting than the lens rendering.
The Hasselblad…[Read more]

It seems that most have the same opinion about the limitations of these solution. i guess the R's go back to the selling block. I just wanted to see the options of keeping the R's. Then again you may be right to check the 4/3 and mirrorless bodies. Thank you!!

Good observations Stephan.
The slight temperature differences can probably be directly attributed to more strobe lighting used on the Hassey shot compared to more ambient (shade) on the S2 shot. Lighting is often the biggest single factor … however, up big, I do like the S2 shot a lot for its more natural look and feel. Just different…[Read more]

what a beautiful photographer 🙂
this said, I like the rendering and bokeh of the hasselblad lens better, also the tones look a bit warmer, but all this may depend on the focal length ….

Now that they have taken the sync speed to 1/1000th, I'm converting all my lenses to CS.
make sure you bought your lenses early enough to qualitfy for the upgrade, as for actual lenses this is not possible any more 😡 I sold my 70 for buying a new one, and will not update my 180 🙁
also, for us here in Europe the upgrades will be…[Read more]

to be honest, I think this is not a very good idea (unless you use mainly wide-angle lenses stoped down). Focussing will be poor (reading from the scale) or absent.
Also, most R-Lenses are somewhat bigger than M-Lenses, so it is not that compact.
I would probably opt for a new DSLR or a recent mirrorles-camera.
There is an adapter…[Read more]

No specifics, sorry.
I already waited a bit before I upgraded. Unfortunately I have the “there is a task open, take care of it” attitude, to keep my list small. 😉

In addition to your comments I recently read an article that was from a company (I believe it was called I Fixit but I may be wrong about that) who took the entire MacBook Pro apart to determine its “fixability.”
They discovered that much of the unit is glued in place and that the display is integral to the unit and if damaged the…[Read more]

Any specifics? I am sure they update little things, but I don't always upgrade firmware that quickly unless there is a clear advantage. I guess I am taking a “if it ain't broke, don't fix it” attitude. For example, the last time I did a Mac OSX update, it destroyed my computer…luckily I had a backup.

I agree with Jack and David, I really like the bike shot. For some reason I don't know why, I also like the tilted shot with the shopping cart laying on its side. I didn't mean that comment in a derogatory manner, it's just very different than the normal types of photographs I like. So really, its a compliment.
