Ok Josh, I am now a believer that ISO 1250 can be used with excellent results – at least in certain conditions. The photo below and the associate crop was taken at ISO 1250 with 1/2 stop over exposure. I processed the image as normal but I did not do any noise reduction. I am shocked at just how good ISO 1250 is in good light.
Oh by the way,…[Read more]

If you could get an M9-P….. certainly none coming in in the next few weeks with the factory closed for the rest of the month.

For me, 50 Summilux asph no question.
But I do have a soft spot for the humble 50/2.8 Elmar (no pun intended:rolleyes:)

Like Doug I use a Thumbie too, which seems to balance the M9-P better as well as giving better grip. I haven't had a problem with the adhesive strip and I've used one on my M8 for 18 months or so.
I use a Leica 1.25 magnifier most of the time (because I forget to take it off:o) but it helps with fast lenses especially the 90…[Read more]

Thanks for posting, David. I did the upgrade on my M8 and have always been happy that I did.
At the price I'm kinda glad that I held off buying an M9 and went straight for the M9-P when it was released but it's good that Leica is offering the choice to upgrade for those who value it.

I don't shoot as much film as I'd like to – several rolls a month maybe – but when I do it's through a IIIf or a BP MP. And a Hexar RF if I'm feeling a bit lazy.

Hi Josh,
Thanks for the effort and for sharing the presets. I used the presets on some shots made in a church and the results are very satisfying.

David Farkas replied to the topic Suggestions for feature additions in future S2 firmware updates in the forum S2 14 years, 10 months ago
Another suggestion for future firmware:
Currently 2 sec self-timer locks up the mirror immediately, then counts down. This is a huge plus for tripod shooting. Unfortunately, the 12 sec self-timer doesn't currently offer any big advantage. Once you press the shutter, the timer counts down from 12, then at the 2 sec mark, the mirror locks up. I…[Read more]

A company called Photo Equip that makes a grip called MD-Grip which attaches to the bottom plate rather than replacing it. The grip is covered with neoprene and triangular in shape – much better to hold than the Leica round grip. Also the Megaperls 1.35 magnifier, it has a built in diopter! Artist and Artisan Silk strap, great to wrap around…[Read more]

Stuart,
I have the adapter that David produced and can attest that it can handle the 350 FE lens that you have. I briefly had a 350 FE but did not end up keeping the lens as it had some separating elements and returned it to the seller. In difference to the 350 CF f5.6 and the 350 FE, the fact that the lens has a tripod mount really helps…[Read more] - Load More
