I suggest you add two more shots and show us a triptych.

Mark,
Forgive me for my delayed viewing of your three shots, but leave the landscape work for a week and just shoot some portraits. You and I have shot landscape work together, so I know how excellent your landscape work always is, but….
You have a knack for studio shots that you should not ignore.
Privately you can link me to the…[Read more] -

Easy to trade in your M9 with Dale if you are in the USA.
I see Amazon is saying they have M in stock, but I would always prefer to deal with a very reliable person, Josh or David at Dale Photo.Jack

Josh,
Here is one not shot from a window, I walked outside in the rain. The day before this bird bath was empty. Nice that the S2 can handle the rain so well. Our drought is over for a day.
I learned on the New England S2 trip last year that autumn colors work well in rain. The second shot is sort of an abstract that I may play with a…[Read more]

Welcome Veeracha,
Your perspective is much appreciated on this forum.
And I would enjoy seeing some photos from Thailand when you can post them.So it appears that your most desired feature was for a new Leica agent to be appointed in Thailand and it appears you got your desire. Anything else in an S3?

Great shots!
1. Tell us how you keep from electrocuting yourself with your power source in the surf?
2. My favorite was the B&W shot.
3. As long as I was using sepia with architecture, I had to suggest you try sepia on the great B&W shot. Note: I asked and received permission from David to post this interpretation of his…[Read more] -

David,
Yes, I had a predetermined size in mind when I took the Miller Park shot, which was the full merged image shown on the web link. But then I started to try and make the image more abstract through elimination. I have a client in mind that might want the full shot, but the abstraction is for me. If they purchase the shot, I will show you…[Read more] -

For dust, I use compressed air carefully to not let the liquid portion out of the can .
For what appear to be spots? That would definitely be a job for Leica. David F would tell you he uses LR spot remover in post production, or back to Leica, he never touches his sensors, probably because he experiences so many horror stories from those who do.…[Read more] -

It has been one year since I asked this question. Today I saw apple is now selling
a $29.00 Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter. That allows me to do a direct connect to my 6T external HD with 800 firewire from my Mac Air.
This will hold me until I eventually upgrade my iMac to a version with thunderbolt and a thunderbolt external…[Read more]

I wanted to see your shots at 5000 and 10,000 full sized. Could you upload a few please?
This web site allows for very high resolution uploads, which then allow close examination for the grain you are mentioning.Jack

Sure, Leica is listening to us, but their bigger market is Asia, and I don't see many users from Asia on this site other than Kurt. Perhaps over there, it seems, buyers purchase the S2 as a luxury good, more than just a very fine tool?

Trade in program? Please. that's wishful thinking as Leica has never needed that. Nor will they need it now. Frankly a trade in program undermines Hassy values in my mind.
New users to the S system require a more modern body, even if the S2 outperforms their abilities. Most existing users who want an S3 will either sell their S2 used without…[Read more]

Stumbled across a way of doing triptychs in three dimensions. An S2 is not required as the file size is very small. I tested this on these old photos as the guys on that trip will recognize the shots. Flash is required for this to work, so forget the iPhone or…[Read more]

First, I would not like an S3 introduced for at least another year. Let's let technology in sensors and hardware do a bit of a leapfrog. Otherwise, i will wait for an S4.
So my first feature request is DELAY.
I would like more ISO sure, and a better bigger buffer would occasionally be more useful. I would like an electronic ND filter,…[Read more]

Glad to see you back to posting some work. As usual, quite nice. But don't forget, you can shoot the S2 in the rain, so rain in not an excuse not to be out shooting.

Tonight, immediately go out and shoot many more from the bike. It could be a great series. Then do a kickstart project or a Blurb book on Miami at night. Of course it would be nice to get Don Johnson to go with you.

I was in DC on some other business and checked out the Leica Store for fun.
Meena Yi and General Manager Eric Oberg were quite welcoming and helpful.
The store layout is quite nice, and of course, seeing all the S products in a display is not an everyday situation. The store is within a short walk of the White House, and was under two miles…[Read more] - Load More
