Thank you for the explanation. Your reasoning makes sense. I may have taken multiple shots of each position to allow focus stacking in post. However, your approach may be more pleasing to the eye.

Surely, the wait won't be much longer. The video showed a good example of why you might want the 35mm in the CS variety. That is probably the last of the lenses I would have considered for a CS application. Then again, I don't photography people very often so what do I know.

At least now we know the proble is not your SDHC card or camera. Also, simply setting the camera to sequential let's you use the SDHC card as you wish. All-in-all this is not a huge deal, but one that needs to be fixed to prevent inadvertent loss of images because when on parallel, the camera acts like it is capturing the image (review screen…[Read more]

I just checked my S2 and can easily replicate the issue except I don't even have to change the ISO. If the camera is set to parallel and only a SD card is in the camera, then the images are not reviewable. As soon as I change it to sequential, the images are reviewable.

I haven't seen this problem, but then again, I can't say for sure I have ever duplicated your sequence of events. I will try it just for the heck of it.

I too prefer the gap between the images of the triptych. I also prefer paper prints over canvas prints however there are some advantages with gallery wrap canvas and I have recently had some made for my own walls. I smile every time I see that photo due to the back story. This photo turned out great as a large triptych. Seeing a photo of your triptych on the wall is the only way to get an idea of the scale without seeing it in person.

Whoa! What a lens. Thank you for sharing the photos from and of this lens. I am drooling. Fortunately, it won't fit my S2 – my wallet is safe.

I know that heart sinking feeling of realizing there is a problem with your sensor. It's even worse when you are the one that caused it. It will be a long time (if ever) before I will wet clean my S2 sensor again. I am glad your experience turned out so well.

Great images Al. I especially like the space needle photo. I also agree with you that we need a long tele S lens.

I have had similar experiences with the S2 autofocus. I gave up and try to manual focus adjust which works ok, but not great, if the subject speed is slow and steady. Hopefully, someone else will post a better experience and/or solution.

I don't own the 120mm, but as I recall you can use a filter holder on the 120mm if you get the correct size adapter ring. I had been using the Lightroom 4 beta and didn't notice any speed issues. In fact, it seemed very fast on my new laptop. Now that I have upgraded to the actual LR 4 release I am noticing slow downs even when zooming to 100% which was near instantaneous in the Beta version.
