On the subject of S glass,If there is another accessory I would like to see its a 2nd S rolling case that could take the S24mm,the Zoom and the new 100mm and extra batteries and CF cards…
i have the current case and its great but only holds 5 lenses and even if you wanted to leave a couple behind you still couldnt fit the Zoom or 24mm in..

Can the Profoto Airsync be used to trigger an external SF58 flash at 1/1000s ?
(1 transmitter on the S2 with CS lens and 1 receiver connected to some sort of hot shoe with mini jack f.i. and plugged to the SF58 in manual mode) -

My laptop lightroom version was 5.4. No 100mm Summicron listed.
I've just updated to 5.5 and the 100mm is now listed.
This is definitively new 😎 -

Peter I have a few HC lenses,I will probably sell them, the S lenses are a step up,no doubt about that.. The blad lenses work pretty well when stepped down to be fair, but DAC is more important for HC IQ…[Read more]

This is a great addition to the line up,hopefully it has fast focusing,at least as fast as the 70 and 180,there would certainly be a CS version i the works..
Only glass missing now is a wide TS and something longer than 180..

Hi Doug – it takes some digging, but if we go back to the Leica S2 introduction when Leica was first talking about the lens line-up, the 100/2 was pictured. The 100/2 appeared to be sized larger than the 70S, but definitely shorter than the 120S. The lens barrel shapes shown in this old picture have changed, so the 100mm shown here may not be…[Read more]

The same goes for me, David. I just downloaded 125 new photos I took with the 70 mm (the only lens I have now that the 120 is back to Leica for repair) and the IQ is just so…[Read more]

Interesting find! I would have thought there'd be a CS version too, especially at this (portrait) focal length.
Photokina only 2 months away 🙂

Ha! Well well, is this prophetic? I had to check LR5.5 myself and indeed it's listed. This may get interesting.
I've been using a 100mm f/4 Pentax and like this angle of view. But I expect an f/2 lens would be just a bit larger…

Jack,
Thanks for the review and pictures! You're helping to convince me to buy one of these though I'm afraid that ship has sailed! 😀 I like what I'm seeing from David, you and other forums members. However I may wait for an updated “snap”! Now if they'll only produce enough cameras to ship!
Thanks again and do feel free to add…[Read more]

Doug,
I expect it will be a race to have someone show how they carved out a set of holes for the battery and the SD card to be accessed.
Surely a third party will offer such a service soon. -

Interesting… I'm surprised at how thick the cover is. And wondering about doing some personalized cutting to allow access to the battery and card.

Did I mention that I got a T-snap?
Yeah, I got an Orange T-snap. I really didn't understand how this snap-on worked before. I mistakenly thought it was sort of thin rubber. It's not, it's hard but flexible plastic. I like it more than I expected.
No, I don't expect Leica will do this for the M or the S, but for a younger target, colors…[Read more]

Leica should make repairing these faulty 120's and getting them back to their owners a priority. In other words…move these lenses to the top of the cue, fix them and ship them back promptly. I've had my fair share of Leica gear needing to be repaired. I'm happy to say that in every case the repair was handled satisfactorily, albeit not always…[Read more]
