• I still would love to turn the wheel in the different direction when changing the aperture. Left handed.

I heard that Mr. Schulz means that nobody needs this, but I would love to have it because I am still, after using the camera for over a year, turning in 90% of the time, the wheel in the wrong direction.

These are only a few lines…[Read more]

  • Insure that the $1000 upgrade to the CS is still available. Please tell him, congratulations on the 1/1000 sync speed for the CS, and the H adaptor that keeps auto focus from the H. Impressive.

  • I am using the Ipad3 as well. When entering a SD Card with a DNG only I am able to import the file but whether Photo nor Iphoto is capable of resolving the file into something usefull. It stays as a pixelated image. Thinking about it, it is not about the hardware, it is about the software who would make it possible. Maybe I'm missing something here. 😉

  • Please ask Leica:

    (1) Please allow us to write a DNG raw file to BOTH cards at the same time.
Having lost images when a CF card failed, I would like to make a backup
automatically with each image. jpg is NOT the same!

    (2) They mentioned when you last met with them, that they might have
“focus stacking” analogous to exposure…[Read more]

    Josh,
I am very pleased that Leica did the MM. Given that it has no competition I expect it to sell very well to the purists. It is quite cool that only Leica can go to this length.

The Luminous Landscape predicted some would unfortunately complain about the existence of this camera.…[Read more]

I am guessing here but if Leica is having supply issues with the M9 sensor maybe the M10 was supposed to be launched on M(ay)10th but there is also a supply issue there too.

  • From what I understand there are no supply issues with Leica M9 sensors. The cameras are still available brand new and we can always order more from Leica when needed.

Leica is all about unique products that are peerless, and I think the new Leica M Monochrom fits that perfectly. Of course they understand it won't be the volume seller so that…[Read more]

I am excited about it, there has not been a monochrome digital camera (not counting digital back) since the Kodak DCS760m.

Now- will they leave the IR filter off of it?

  • Pete, I am using the new IPad 3. I am guessing that there should be no difference between M9 and S2 DNG files.

  • If I recall correctly, if you bought this lens, Leica would include a VW Bug. I think the price at the time – 1972 was about $18,000 for the lens and $2,000 for the VW.
