If a camera does not have enough “latitude” or Dynamic range, the solution as you suggested would be HDR via combining two or more images. I used to do that and it required a tripod usually, no motion in the subject like the moving cars, and I still didn't like the result very often. The issue turned out to be file size.
If this one goes up, we know 1.5 m can work.
If it doesn't, then I go to a mere .5mUsed to be David allowed huge files, up to 20M. I think when he revised the forum, that changed.

This is handheld, 1/60th at ISO 1600. 30-90 Zoom set on 30mm. f6.8
So there is very little camera shake. -

Very smooth update. I especially appreciate the long press on the rear dial allowing a 100% zoom enlargement on playback. Much easier than spinning the top dial.
That has to be one the faster firmware updates in Leica history.

That is strange. What version of LR do you have installed?

The only indications that the camera is fully supported are the proper display of camera metadata, showing there is an Adobe Standard camera profile and that the lens profile was automatically applied.
Are you seeing these in your Develop module with SL files loaded?

Ah. Unfortunately, Lightroom doesn't yet support direct tethering in LR yet. In the meantime, you could use Leica Image Shuttle to put DNG files from the camera into a folder on your computer, then enable Auto Import in Lightroom, setting the watched folder to the same one you selected as output in Image Shuttle.

The X-U can be submerged to 15m for 60 minutes. 2m shouldn't be an issue whatsoever.
Leica Store Miami should have the cameras in stock very shortly, so you'd certainly be able to get one for your assignment.
