David Farkas replied to the topic Which S lens should Leica make next?? in the forum S Lenses 12 years, 3 months ago
I think a 90-250mm zoom (70-200 equiv) would be a great companion to the 30-90. I don't think it needs to be a constant aperture. In fact, f/4-5.6 would be totally fine. A lens like this would be great for landscape, travel, or in studio.
I'd also welcome an f/2 or f/1.8 lens, although DOF would be crazy thin, especially on a short-to-medium…[Read more]

Yes, Leica NJ will clean your sensor at no charge, S included.
The only drawback will be being without your camera for a while.
To send directly to Leica:

The LCD measures 70mm x 49mm and has a narrow blank border that is not used for imaging, and similarly a wider unused bar at right.

Craig,
I really enjoyed your photos. I have been reviewing photos of Iceland for the last couple years now and researching for a trip to Icenland for myself. You have some images of the Iceland coastline on your website that I haven't seen before and would like to see in person. Thank you for posting.

Jack,
Seeing the print laid flat with the lady standing behind it really demonstrates just how big it is. It will be considerably larger with the mat and frame. You will need a large wall to hang it on. It should look awesome though.
The cost of framing is a huge obstacle for large prints. I am guilty of getting my big prints done on…[Read more]

Dale, I've already emailed you but I also want to post here that of course we will replace your Noctilux with another, new lens and send this defective unit back to Leica. It's rare that we see defects on new lenses but when it happens, we always replace it right away!

Jack, the large print looks great from hear. I can imagine just how good it looks in person. That was very nice of Joe to make the print for you. He is a very helpful person and a joy to go shooting with.

By default, C1 doesn't have built-in profile support for the S-System. Remember, Phase One and Leica are competitors, so Phase isn't motivated to optimize their software for Leica files. S files come into C1 as generic DNG files and look pretty terrible as compared to LR.
That being said, Leica created an ICC camera profile for use in C1 if…[Read more]

I am impressed with your focusing skills with the Nocti. I know from experience that it isn't easy nailing the focus point where you want it with that lens. The least amount of body sway or subject movement will throw it off due to the shallow dof.
So I see the model is wearing something reddish/pinkish in this latest crop whereas she is…[Read more]
