my heart stopped the first time I cleaned my M9 sensor : the exact same thing happened. battery was half charge, put it on cleaning mode, few swipes here, loupe there, swipe here and there and exactly on the millisecond that I was removing the swab, shutter closes.

I generally rely on auto focus, but Yes, in testing with the 50-110 just now, I do get proper focus confirmation with a dot (and audible signal) on manual focus as well as with AFs (manual shows arrows and dot properly).

Right you are. But at the time this was the best available. Too bad that Leitz didn't take Norm Goldberg up on his design as they did with the N-5 motor.

I am totally with you on what you've just said regarding shooting the S2 Tethered . Something has to change and I wished it would be sooner rather then later .

My lens has loud clicking sound when firing the leaf shutter too, and it has more obvious delay than focal plane shutter. 🙁

BTW, may I ask if all of you have the same issue as I have experienced?

Update:

I have visited the local Leica service centre with my S2 and S to H adaptor, there was a S2 and another adaptor, and the product manager and I have tried both adaptors on each S2.

Good to know that your lenses are “clicking” also … it works and that's all that counts.

I can attest to the IQ of the newer HC-50-II … it is a great focal length field-of-view on the S camera and fills the gap between the S35 or 30 and S70.

I always thought that the reason why a certain voltage is required to strat the cleaning process is precisely to prevent these things from happening (I assume you did not clean the sensor for an unusually long time). I've never seen this actually happen in practice. You must have had a pretty low battery level. Good thing no harm was done.

I didn't pick up my M6 for a few months too. I actually sold almost all lenses, only keep the 40/2 and a vintage Sonnar 5cm f1.5 LTM. Mainly because I was mainly using my Pentax 67ii 99% of time.
