I have a set of photos made with R lenses here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/ramayanax/sets/72157610472050425/
Mounted on E1, 5D and Leica R-E over the years. Now I'm thinking of going Alpha, maybe the A65, since m4/3 doesn't seem up to the job.

Ornello;2081 wrote: Where do you get the idea that a tripod is necessary for a camera such as the S2?
While I certainly use my S2 hand-held most of the time, a tripod is an essential tool for my photography (and most photographers). It's necessary when using ND filters, shooting stopped down for maximum depth of field, shooting night scenes,…[Read more]

Steve, very nice portraits.
I also had the chance few weeks ago to take pictures of wonderful model Tiffie.
Attached one taken with the 70mm, available light only.
Did you manually focus the 120mm, or did you use autofocus?
I also noticed how well the 120mm focusses manually.Gerald

Hello.
I've found the updated LR4 develop module to be a fantastic upgrade from LR3, and I use it if I have a small number of image files to process. I'm thrilled with the updated capabilities.
IF I have a large commercial job to run (200 to 1000+ files) that requires minimal adjustments where I can ignore the develop module, I revert…[Read more]

Since the front element of the 120mm moves, can you mount a 4″ Filter system on it? If yes with which filter diameter? 72mm or do I need a different setup?Side question: Anybody have experience with variable neutral density filters (rotate to make darker / lighter? How do they compare quality-wise with the…

Hi Peter,
I don't own the 120mm, but as I recall you can use a filter holder on the 120mm if you get the correct size adapter ring. There is an issue when the lens fully retracted and I bet there is a spacer or something available to get around that. Several photographers who attended David's Fall Foliage trip last year were using the…[Read more]

In this article, Mark Dubovoy mentions that HCB spent a lot of time practising with his cameras until every movement was precise and second nature (see quote below in red).* He also practised and worked on how to move in the street so as not to be noticed. In other words, he tried to take into consideration his own presence in the scene being…[Read more]

I had been using the Lightroom 4 beta and didn't notice any speed issues. In fact, it seemed very fast on my new laptop. Now that I have upgraded to the actual LR 4 release I am noticing slow downs even when zooming to 100% which was near instantaneous in the Beta version.

To elaborate:
The notion that the spontaneous or inadvertent has no part in great photography is a false one, one I find offensive, deceitful, mendacious, and repugnant.
And this needs to be said!
