Messsucherkamera replied to the topic Where are the film shooters? in the forum Film M Cameras 14 years, 7 months ago
Hello, all –
First post here. I photograph with film cameras 100% – I don't own even one digital camera.
For B&W, Tri-X is my film of choice although I'm thinking of giving Fuji Acros a try. I develop my own film at home and am working on getting a darkroom up and running (I already have most of the components needed).
My Leica…[Read more]

Hello Doug,
Very nice work – thanks for posting. Good to see that some of the P67 lenses are great performers on MFD systems like the S2.

Personally moving shot for me. Thank you for posting this.
Not long ago, my Father was buried in a similar place with full military honors … the Great Lakes National Memorial Cemetery. When we were driving through this massive place to the point of ceremony, every single military person along the way snapped to attention and saluted as we…[Read more]

Yes I pulled it too far…flag could remain and context aware fill would easily add sky.

As well as those who continue to do so….
With regard to the corrected version…it looks better to my eye but the top of the flag has now been cut off. Should be a fairly simple correction in Photoshop and one that's worth doing (IMHO).

Your Monitor Back Plane Brightness setting is currently on Automatic. This adjusts the monitor backlight (not image brightness) based on ambient lighting conditions. To change:
1) Setup menu
2) Monitor/Display
3) Back Plane
4) Backlight
5) Change to Medium
6) Confirm by depressing the thumb wheelThis should solve your problem.

rgk replied to the topic is there a macro flash for the s2 in the forum S2 14 years, 8 months ago
I think that fotografz is on the right 😀 track. I am thinking about getting the RRS macro ring and rack. The next problem will be the flash. If one mounts a pair of flashes on the RRS ring, could one fire them with a pocket wizard? What about hand holding the SF 58 and using the RC-S cable release?

hoppyman replied to the topic Will Leica start making more silver chrome lenses again? in the forum M Lenses 14 years, 8 months ago
That rumour doesn't make sense for me either. I would not be surprised if the grey M9 option just fades away but that is because the chrome M9-P option has proven to be so popular. I don't see why the black paint M9 can't continue to co-exist with the M9-P options though since the internals of course are identical.
Of course everything may…[Read more] -

I like it. Well done. The sun angle is great for backlighting the flag and stone building. However, it puts the wreaths leaning on the headstones in shadow. To bad you can't have it all.

Just curious, why a little ring-light?
Ring-lights produce flat results, flat as a pancake.
Big Ring-light strobes produce a shadowless effect often used for fashion, but for macro I've never understood the concept of dead-on flat light (except maybe for scientific recording where art, or modeling the shape of the subject, isn't the…[Read more]

I read it the same way. 30,000 M9's is an awful lot of camera for Leica to manufacture by hand though.

No bikinis and not South Beach but what I feel is a colorful part of Miami, Little Havana. Trying the S2 out as a street camera was like driving a Ferrari through small town America, you get noticed a lot more. I shot in the domino park where they are used to getting their photos taken by tourists so it was pretty easy to move around and…[Read more]
