I sent your E-mail on to my friend. Thanks for the info- ir sounds like you are wll informed.

The vertical plate on my RRS bracket is only about 1 inch in length and I can clamp along the entire length but the bracket is way off-set from the center of the clamp. It seems stable.

Thanks Phil. I tried that but with the Arca Swiss Z1 I can only clamp a portion of the plate before the cable becomes an impediment. I'll check out Kirk's solution. RRS does have spacers, but they are only 1.25 inches, which means I would have to stack spacers. A nuisance for sure, and at that point any extra stability gained from using an…[Read more]

    Hi Jeff:

Very sorry to hear of your problem but you are forunate to have started treatment. THe son of a friend of mine waited too late and has really suffeed.

I use the RRS L plate and don't have any problems with the remote release so long as I position the camera at one end of the clamp. A extension spacer would be another solution -…[Read more]

I'm a really lazy photographer:D Actually I've been thinking of using some kind of multi exposure with multi flash, to capture dancing steps. If the camera superimpose a single image for me, it would be much more convenient to check on site and make changes to setting errors.

    For stacking double or more…

    Hi Stuart,
I think the best we can do as a loyal Leica camera user is to tell the factory what we need.
No matter how small the number of any specific pool of users, Leica can only improve their product line by listening to those who buy their cameras.

    Hi Stuart,

I think the most important of all is feedback from end users. No matter how small the number, a product can only improve and survive in the market through these practical feedback.
This is one of the reasons why I join this forum instead of the local ones in Hong Kong. There are too many Asian Leica owners bought their pieces…[Read more]

  • I have to agree with him. They can't even produce enough lenses to meet demand…the last thing they should be devoting resources to is something like a right angle finder, which will only appeal to a very small and specific set of users. I don't mean to offend either of you with that, but it is not an item that many people use on a regular…[Read more]

    Hi,
I am new to this forum. During my last visit to Paris to attend the Leica Magnum Day, I have a chance to interview Mr.Stephan Schulz, one of the engineers who design the S2.
I hava asked the same question about the right angle view finder. The answer was a firm no! Leica developed the S2 as a small system target for a small group of…[Read more]

  • Hmmmm … I have a full blown Rollei Xact-II with recessed lens boards and bellows bag for wides. I just wonder if someone like the Kapture Group could engineer a mount for the S2.

    Hmmmm.

    Hi David,
I have ran another test. All with the same DNG files, one normal exposure as an incident meter reading, one three stops under exposed and one three stops over exposed. The difference is I converted these DNG file in Camera Raw (pls see screen shot) into 8 bit. First without any adjustment; Recovery = 0, Fill light = 0, Black = 0,…[Read more]

I can no longer manage the tight curves of that highway around the north shore between Hana and Paia; I get nauseous and dizzy. The last time going CCW I barely made it to Mama's Fish House to recuperate! The first time, years ago, going clockwise, the pavement ended a mile or so past Kipahulu (aviator Charles Lindbergh is buried on the grounds of…[Read more]

  • Yes, of course, the focal plane shutter! Not sure how I could have overlooked that! It also opens up some other nice options, like barrel lenses. I can see things like aero-ektars and process lenses could be fun to play with. Are you thinking of a generic graflock adapter, or similar, or are you only make something that would fit this specific…[Read more]

    Hi Pete –

Yes, the red sand beach is just a little past Hana. We drove the whole way around on Piilani Hwy – a stunning drive that I think many miss and the road was ok.
