David Farkas replied to the topic Compressed or Uncompressed RAW files, any difference? in the forum Workflow and Processing 13 years, 10 months ago
Jack, I just read the article as well. I'll second what Josh said.
The S2 uses lossless compression. There is no difference whatsoever in image quality. Test this for yourself.
I'll restrain myself from correcting the other bits of misinformation at this time, but let's just say that I would take it all with a large grain of salt.

David Farkas replied to the topic Filter system for the S2 in the forum S2 13 years, 10 months ago
Georg,
The Schneider filters are a lot easier to work with as you can do your focus and composition, then either slide the ND filters into place or unclip/reclip the entire holder from the lens.
I had previously tried 4″ resin filters and was disappointed with the quality and their propensity for scuffing and attracting dust (even when…[Read more]

Georg,
Take a look at the Schneider filters that David sells. They are exceptional. Graduated neutral density filters are available and solid neutral density filters are also available. I bought the one that has IR correction. Unfortunately, I have been so busy at work I haven't had a chance to compare it to my Lee Big Stopper. The Big…[Read more]

There is absolutely no difference. Given that there are a few factual inaccuracies in the article, I would be careful taking too much of it very seriously.

As of July 16, the Leica S-Adapter H has begun to ship in very small quantities in the United States. This is great news for S system users looking to expand their options for lens selection. Personally, I […]

I wouldn't know how the HC-100/2.2 will look on the S2 yet Stephan … I'm still waiting for my H to S adapter … (Grrrr ; -( Missed a BIG opportunity last week and had to use the H4D/60 for a big paid shoot because I needed high-speed sync for the entire day. The S2's 1/125th top sync speed wasn't an option. I really wanted to use the S2 for…[Read more]

Hi Marc
So, if I understand you right, the HC 100/2.2 is a nice lens on the S2? 🙂
I just wanted to add that Leica added specific Lens-Profiles for the Hasselblad-Lenses in their download area. This makes sense, as the sensore-size is different from the Hasselblads and so must the correction be different as well.

Stumbled across a way of doing triptychs in three dimensions. An S2 is not required as the file size is very small. I tested this on these old photos as the guys on that trip will recognize the shots. Flash is required for this to work, so forget the iPhone or…[Read more]

I have another question:
I bought a Hasselblad 150 for testing this adapter. It works well, but in the EXIFS the lens is shown as a 150N, with has another lensdesign.
I tried to find some informations on the net about the differences of the 150 vs. 150N, but there is not much to read ot to see about it. Can anyone give some…[Read more]

*finally* got mine, but didn't had much time to test it. Looks quite nicely built.
But there is a BIG fail: I mean this part isn't cheap, but why did nobody at LEICA had the idea to join A REAR LENS CAP? Or how do they think we will use this part?
So I have to order a rear lens cap separately from my dealer 😡
btw it's the same…[Read more]
