Hello.
After my initial griping about the painful slowness of LR4, I received a beneficial link. http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/optimize-performance-lightroom.html
The two most important points I implemented are:
-Leave autowrite XMP turned off. I save the XMP data just before I do the final archive of the project. I don't know…[Read more] -

+1 FOR ISO:
On the Phase One backs with Sensor+ the ISO steps as such: 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 200+, 400+, 800+, 1600+ and 3200+. It's quite simple and easy to know when you are or are not in Sensor+ mode.
If Leica could implement the same with the reduced read speeds & channels, that would be amazing – and maybe they could add…[Read more]

PebblePlace replied to the topic Adjust EC in 1/3 increments? in the forum S2 14 years ago
Thank you for the link, that was a very helpful thread. Wish they could change the system (Aperture, Shutter & ISO) to shift in 1/3 increments. It certainly isn't the end of world, but I was surprised not to see 1/2 v 1/3 option like the M9.

PebblePlace;2327 wrote: Is there a way to set the EC adjustment to step in 1/3 increments rather than 1/2 step increments?
I think David mentioned sometime ago that it's not a priority with Leica currently. I guess to achieve the new increments they need precise calibration at each ISO level.
Edit: I found the original link here, please…[Read more]

Was there write-up summarizing the meeting? I would like know the next lenses are expected and what firmware features we may see.

Whoa! What a lens. Thank you for sharing the photos from and of this lens. I am drooling. Fortunately, it won't fit my S2 – my wallet is safe.

Ten images exported to 1000px wide JPG, quality 90 with screen sharpening took 38 seconds. I then ran the exact same images through LR4 two ways. The first…

Tom L. L.,
The S2 is a large camera, made larger when you add a lens and the wides 30, 35, can be intimidating on the street. The size comparison of the 30 or 35 is a champagne bottle to the point where the foil is on the neck and about the same diameter. The old 19 R Elmarit was tiny compared to these lenses, that is why I felt that a 24…[Read more] -

Good news, problem solved! I stumbled upon DAG Camera Parts ( http://www.dagcamera.com/index.html ) – on a couple forums. Don G. at DAG sold me a metal 39mm screw in lens shade for my 28mm Elmarit. He machined the front of the shade down just enough so the lens would not vignette. He had a 28mm lens so could test the shade before shipping. I…[Read more]

If you are still having issues getting shutter count, try downloading the M8 Info program. There is also an M9 Info program here as well. Very easy.

I do believe they are committed but I do worry that will not keep up with the pace of innovation that is needed for the S2 to realize it's full potential. We all know they have the best lenses that money can buy. When you look back at their pace of firmware updates and the development of the lens line they are slow!

David Farkas replied to the topic Meeting with S2 product manager Stephan Schulz tomorrow in the forum S2 14 years, 1 month ago
Yes, Leica is committed to providing continuing updates for S2 firmware. I was told that many of the feature enhancements Stephan and I discussed back in October will come, but that with all the activity running up to May 10 resources for firmware development had to be shifted elsewhere. Rest assured, Leica is committed to long term support for the S2.
