I am looking at the Nikon R1C1. The kit includes a 72mm ring that should fit the 120mm macro. Before I buy it, i plan to ask the guys at Dale for their opinion.

rgk replied to the topic Advice need from wedding shooter in the forum S2 14 years, 6 months ago
if you plan upon remaining friends with the couple, I suggest that you hire a pro to shoot the wedding. It is not possible to please everybody and your failure to do so will net you a bruised ego or worse. I think that pros know this and build into their fees a bruised ego and pita surcharge.
Another problem that you appear to have is that you…[Read more] -

Really nice. Love especially the sunset ones where you see the huge DR.

This is a question covering a lot of aspects. Maybe I can cover a few of them.
First there will be always at one point a system that is better then the one you have. Waiting for this system will lead to never ever have a system.
Second what is your expectation of a system? What are your requirements? Do you need a weather sealed…[Read more]

David, my experience using this setup is that I have to push the exposure of the flash to +1 or maybe even more and of course this depending on the height of the ceiling and overall available…[Read more]

Hear! Hear! Unfortunately, I do not have enough time these days to make enough of my camera.
I still remember the PM you sent me about a year ago on GETDpi, saying that you were looking into the system and encouraging me to not be discouraged by the pushing of the alternative brands and the then S2 bashing. One of the factors that we…[Read more]

Thanks very much for the info and the large picture. I do like a…[Read more]

Yes, the Schneider APO 120mm T/S Macro can be used on a Leica S2 using a Mamiya 645 Adapter. I apologize that the Schneider 120mm is not yet on our website, but we can certainly get the lens for you if you like as we are Schneider dealers.

Ok, well I found what I was hoping for, and the color problem is mostly solved. I found a tutorial by Patrick Lavoie on photo.net, and it seems to get rid of the color moire at least, but not the pattern. Still, it is much better and less distracting. You lose some saturation, but it is better than simply desaturating.
The procedure is as…[Read more]

Leica S2 with Schneider Apo-Digital 120mm f/5.6 Tilt Shift lens, 1/180 sec at f/5.6. I wanted to play with this lens' tilt and shift. This was shot wide open with the plane of focus down the first 1/3 of the image or so. This is a very unique lens that we just added to our inventory, so expect more shots soon, along with comparisons to… -

Good one Jack. Although three different, but complementary images of Courtney would make a nice triptych of sorts.
David K. That is great news for Courtney and I it should be a source of pride for you.

Thank you both for the help. I am sorry I did not reply sooner. I left town right after I posted the thread, and then forgot to come back to it.
David — I will consider doing that next time, though I still appreciate the ease of just focusing on that which I want in focus, and taking the shot. But in this case, it may indeed be better to…[Read more]
