Hi Peter
What new grip? I can confirm that my old one works well on the S … So logic says that the opposite should be true.
Where are you in Switzerland? If close to Basel, you are welcome to try my old grip.

Though my S has an unfortunate shutter issue that leaves me with a number of black files, it is still producing stunning images. This is the last light over Santa Fe this evening. Great color separation and amazing sharpness, even on peaks 30-150 miles away. File compression doesn't do the details justice. The 24mm lens is a joy. Handheld, mf, 1/60th @ f3.5, ISO400.

The “old trick” is to use black paint to fill in the scratch. This prevents the scratch from producing a reflection and flare, which is the primary source of image corruption. After filling it in, I doubt you will see any difference in performance.

Preliminary testing indicates that the scratch does not show up on photos, which is pretty incredible. But, every time I use this lens, which is frequent, and look at that scratch, I will feel sick. I am going to start searching online for a replacement. Several people have already expressed interest in buying this lens, though no price has been…

I don't know the direct answer to your question but have you tried using the “Eye-Fi” Pro X2 SDHC card? I'm putting the 16Gb through some tests currently and so far it seems to live up to specs:-
1. Provides WiFi connection to your PC/MAC so that shots are immediately uploaded (you can stipulate to where). Granted your still need to import…[Read more]

Single shot with minimal PP,process in C1P7… C1 does an excellent job with S file's,only caveat is lack of tool's for dealing with C.A's.. you dont see C.A's very often with these lenses but still a L.R4 style tool for mitigating C.A would be nice..
I have used a experience with some very good wide angle's including the TSE17 and Nikkor…[Read more]
