Leica’s first electronic viewfinder M camera, the new M EV1, has officially begun shipping to customers in the United States, marking the start of the camera's long-awaited rollout. Following the recent reopening of the US federal government, Leica was finally able to secure FCC approval, an essential compliance step that had previously delayed the EV1’s release. With certification now complete, shipments to US dealers and customers are moving ahead as planned.

Originally announced one month ago, the Leica M EV1 blends the mechanical simplicity and feel that M photographers love with the flexibility and precision of a modern, integrated live view experience. The camera is also notably lighter than a stanard M11, clocking in almost 50g less. Overall, it's a fantastic option for those looking to blend the convenience of an EVF with the timeless M aesthetic.
