On July 1, 2018 Leica is increasing prices on a range of sports optics products by an average of about 5%. Affected products include Laser Rangefinders, Trinovid HD Full Size Binoculars, Ultravid HD-Plus Binoculars, Noctivid Binoculars, Duovid Binoculars, Monovid Monoculars, Trinovid Compact Binoculars, and Ultravid Compact Binoculars.
To quote Leica from their recent camera and lens price increase, โthis revision is necessary due to the current exchange rates and the increase in raw materials and production costs.โ This does make sense, as every year about this time we tend to see some increases, designed to reflect the ever-rising costs involved with manufacturing hand-built products from exotic, expensive materials. Also, the Euro has risen dramatically against the dollar in the past year.
Notably, there are zero increases for Goevid Laser Rangefinder Binoculars, Televid Spotting Scopes and recently announced products such as the Green Noctivids are not affected. The good news here is that we have nearly a month of advance notice. All orders placed by June 30, 2018 will be honored at the pre-increase price โ even if the item is not in stock until on or after July 1, 2018.
