• Thanks Mark, RE: difficulties …

Never let them see you sweat … LOL!

What is also so gratifying about using these tools is the remarkably consistent look and feel attainable between the S2 and M9P … while I also use a Sony A900 and Zeiss optics, as well as process images from my second shooter's Nikons or Canons, none have that…[Read more]

  • Really nice photos Marc. I gotta say, there is no way to detect the difficulties you had by looking at the photo. The exposure looks great to my eye.

  • THe hood does appear to be rather short and wide so I don't see how it can be very effective at 90mm especially since it appears to be attached to the end of the extending portion of the lens barrel.

If it were attached at the non-moving portion of the lens and the lens extends for the wider angle focal lengths and is fully retracted for…[Read more]

Good question. Honestly, I don't know. The answer will have to wait until I get a chance to test the lens.

  • The S2 doesn't officially support SDXC cards. The new S camera will, so I assume this is something that can be updated via firmware, seeing as how both cameras have the same Maestro processor.

My suggestion would be to hold off using the new 64GB card until it is officially supported via firmware. It might work now, but I would be wary of…[Read more]

  • Well well ! I've reformat on my mac in ms-dos fat and it's work !!
    good !! 😎

  • Arif, I just use LR and the lens profiles Leica provided for the HC lenses.

In the case of the HC100/2.2 when strong backlighting is present (like it was in the Bride and flower-girls photo) I may have to use a bit more manual purple fringing correction. This shows up more frequently with the S2 than with my H4D/60.

The Hasselblad H lenses get along with the S2's sensor quite nicely.

The HC50/3.5-II, 100/2.2, and 150/3.2N are a particularly nice set of lenses to use with the Leica … dual shutter capable, good handling size for the S2, and all use the same 77mm filter size.

A quick follow up…it's been about a year since we had the OLED screen's replaced on our S2-P bodies, and they haven't faded at all. And it looks like it's the same OLED that's going in the new S, which is a good sign.

The top panel OLED has also long since ceased to read, so it's a perfect storm of problems. Here comes its European vacation.
