My S2-P came with a displaced screen. Easy job to put it back in place with surgical tools. To avoid scratching I simply gave the tips of the tweezers a spray with Teflon before use.
If Solms will send me a micro prism screen I will repeat the exercise (hint!!! On order for a long time now :-))

It looks like it is just like the R9, only bigger. If that is the case, it is not too hard. You just need to be quite delicate and careful. The screen is usually a little easier to get out than to get in. The hardest part is generally releasing the new screen once it is in the proper place in the metal frame. You need to let go with the tweezers…[Read more]

Not difficult.
Just make sure you don't scrape the screen on the metal holder. It can scratch easily.
Also make sure you put it in with the right side up, or the holder will not close properly.
If you have to feel like you are forcing it to click closed, you are probably upside down.
Don't drink coffee before the move.Josh says he is…[Read more]

I recently had my S2 Top LED upgraded and sent to Solms who removed the top AC Maxx protector without any issue so it seems they can be removed easily. The service from AC Maxx on ebay was very good as well.
I had mine replaced too and the AC…[Read more]

And here's a sample of the latest 55mm f/4 Pentax-67 lens. There were three different 55mm lenses, the earliest an f/3.5 Takumar using 100mm filters (!), and then two 55mm f/4, the first one on the market only a few years. The last one has one fewer element, and has the lens info printed on the beveled front edge of the focusing ring, typical of…[Read more]

Thanks for the comment, Ray… So far, with informal use, I have the impression that the 100mm Macro does the best on the S2. Not too surprising given that it's a slow macro and one of the final P67 lenses introduced.
The latest 200mm f/4 looks sharper to me than the 165mm f/4… here's a sample (click for larger):

Hello, all –
First post here. I photograph with film cameras 100% – I don't own even one digital camera.
For B&W, Tri-X is my film of choice although I'm thinking of giving Fuji Acros a try. I develop my own film at home and am working on getting a darkroom up and running (I already have most of the components needed).
My Leica…[Read more]

Hello Doug,
Very nice work – thanks for posting. Good to see that some of the P67 lenses are great performers on MFD systems like the S2.

Personally moving shot for me. Thank you for posting this.

Yes I pulled it too far…flag could remain and context aware fill would easily add sky.

As well as those who continue to do so….
With regard to the corrected version…it looks better to my eye but the top of the flag has now been cut off. Should be a fairly simple correction in Photoshop and one that's worth doing (IMHO).

Your Monitor Back Plane Brightness setting is currently on Automatic. This adjusts the monitor backlight (not image brightness) based on ambient lighting conditions. To change:
1) Setup menu
2) Monitor/Display
3) Back Plane
4) Backlight
5) Change to Medium
6) Confirm by depressing the thumb wheelThis should solve your problem.

rgk replied to the topic is there a macro flash for the s2 in the forum S2 14 years, 6 months ago
I think that fotografz is on the right 😀 track. I am thinking about getting the RRS macro ring and rack. The next problem will be the flash. If one mounts a pair of flashes on the RRS ring, could one fire them with a pocket wizard? What about hand holding the SF 58 and using the RC-S cable release?
